See The New Name Ghange Of Liberty Professionals That Has Been Approved By GFA

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has granted Liberty Professionals Football Club permission to alter its name to Hohoe United Football Club.

"We acknowledge receipt of a letter from Liberty Professionals Football Club dated June 19, 2023 requesting approval for a change of your club's name from Liberty Professional Football Club to Hohoe United Football Club," the GFA wrote to the renamed club.

"The Ghana Football Association(GFA) also acknowledges receipt of the documents on the change of name to Hohoe United Football Club Limited from the Registrar General's Department, along with registration number CS14872021 and taxpayer identification number C0061048259, which were submitted to the GFA.

"Accordingly, the GFA hereby approves Liberty Professionals Football Club's name change to Hohoe United Football Club."

Hohoe United Football Club will now succeed Liberty Professionals in Ghana's Division One League as a result of their successful acquisition of Liberty's position in the league.

On Tuesday, Liberty Professionals announced a change in the club's business model, withdrawing from the highest level of Ghanaian football competition and shifting its focus to being a type of "academy" that develops players from the grassroots level without a focus on qualifying for the top divisions.

The club will compete in Zone 3 of the Division One League at the newly constructed Hohoe Stadium, which has a capacity of 7,000.

The restoration of one of Hohoe's traditional clubs, which will now attempt to qualify for the Premier League, was spearheaded by the area's representative in Congress.
