Stonebowy Launches Borehole Drilling Project To Help Needy Communities

This week, Stonebwoy launched a massive borehole drilling initiative to deliver clean water access and essential water education to underserved communities across the nation.

The initiative was launched by his charity organization, The Livingstone Foundation, Ghana, as part of the musician's array of CSR and charity activities that aim to empower individuals, improve health outcomes, and promote overall development. The borehole initiative is also a beacon of hope, providing Ghana's impoverished communities with clean water and brighter futures.

Borkor Awukukorpe, a farming community in Takoradi, Western Region, where the River Pra, its only reliable source of potable water, has been contaminated by galamsey operations conducted by Chinese, foreign, and Ghanaian nationals, will begin the project later this month.

Elders in the village explained to representatives of the foundation who visited the area at the beginning of this year how the lack of pure water threatens their health, education, and general development. We struggle to obtain even a cup of water. The only reliable source of water is the River Pra, but illegal activities have polluted it. At a recent health screening, the physicians informed us that the water on which we rely has affected our health.

Stonebwoy is well-known not only for his infectious music, but also for his philanthropic endeavors. The Livingstone Foundation is a charity organization dedicated to realizing the rights and needs in areas of critical significance for humanity and the planet. In recent years, the organization has been actively engaged in a variety of social initiatives aimed at uplifting and empowering communities in Ghana, including the distribution of education scholarships, the payment of hospital bills, the creation of jobs, and the encouragement of self-employment through its annual skill training workshop, among others.

Stonebwoy will construct new water filtration boreholes and reservoirs across the country as part of the Livingstone Foundation Borehole Drilling Project, particularly in communities impacted by illicit Chinese, foreign, and Ghanaian mining operations. The reservoir will be equipped with water filtration systems that will help meet people's daily water requirements, reduce the burden of collecting water, and combat water-borne diseases, thereby keeping children healthier and in school.
