TRAGEDY : 31 Year Old Ghanaian Woman Murdered In UK

A Ghanaian woman, age 31, was fatally stabbed in the United Kingdom, according to the Metropolitan Police.

On May 1, 2023, a stranger reportedly stabbed Johanita Kossiwa Dogbey in open daylight on Stockwell Park Walk in Brixton.

According to reports, she was speaking with her grandmother on the phone while walking home after purchasing a birthday gift for her mother and was a few metres from her home when a man assaulted her from behind.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service arrived at the scene quickly. "The victim, who was 31 years old, was treated but tragically died at the scene," the Metropolitan police stated at a press conference.


Following reports of the stabbing, detectives launched an investigation, and the 33-year-old perpetrator was apprehended on Wednesday, May 3.

Mohamed Nur is currently accused with murder and possession of a dangerous weapon.

In addition, he has been charged with three counts of causing great bodily injury to two distinct women and a man.

In the meantime, a statement from her family described the deceased as an intelligent, devoted, and loving individual who was always willing to assist others.

"She'd never harm a fly. We are devastated by the news of our daughter's departure. We cannot believe that such a senseless crime has occurred because we cannot fathom who would do this to her.

"Our emotions are shattered and we cannot comprehend why someone would take our beautiful daughter away from us. "She will remain in our hearts forever, and we will strive to live as gracefully and beautifully as she did," the statement said.
