TRAGEDY ; NADMO Officer, Among Others Drowned In Kumasi

Three people, including a member of the National Disaster Management Organisation NADMO, have been confirmed deceased, while one person is still missing after heavy rains Friday evening in parts of the Ashanti Region.

According to reports, two of the three were swept away by devastating floods and were found deceased on Saturday morning, while the third remains missing.

Sulemana Ahmed, a NADMO officer, was tragically carried away along with his motorcycle while on his way home from work in Duase, located in the Kumasi Metropolitan Area.

Prince Osei, Assembly Member for the Duase Electoral Area, said in an interview with OTEC News' Jacob Agyenim Boateng that residents of the area discovered his body in a sewer early Saturday morning.

Not only did Sulemana Ahmed, in his forties, serve as an officer with NADMO, but he was also a former organizer for the National Democratic Congress in the Old Tafo Constituency.
