Teshie Chiefs Warn Henry Quartey

The Greater Accra Region Minister, Henry Quartey, and the Registrar of the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, Enoch Addo, have been warned by the chiefs and traditional leaders of Teshie, an Accra suburb, to refrain from meddling in Teshie's chieftaincy concerns.

The call was made during a press conference held by the chiefs and traditional rulers of Teshie on May 25 in Teshie, following an alleged attempt to form a new Traditional Council for Teshie by the regional minister and Mr. Addo in conjunction with some community members.

There is no acknowledged Teshie Mantse, according to the chiefs and traditional leaders led by the Original Nii Martey Laryea I of Teshie Gbugblah, thus the Regional Minister's action.
He said they will resist it.

He further accused Henry Quartey of deliberately trying to destabilize the peace and stability being enjoyed by the people of Teshie and warned that if he does not desist from such actions, it might create unnecessary tension and eventually throw Teshie into chaos.
