WATCH : How Konongo Zongo Reacted To Black Sherif's Massive Win

As soon as their own, Black Sherif, was named 'Artiste of the Year' at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards, the Konongo Zongo neighborhood was literally turned upside down by the citizens of the town.

Before the awards, it appears that some residents of the town had congregated at a particular location to view the event together.

At the 24th edition of the Video Music Awards, these individuals, who were evidently eager to see one of their own take home the top prize could not hide their happiness when he was finally named "Artiste of the Year."

In a video that has gone viral, one of the men at the venue can be heard shouting, "We have won a VGMA ATOY.

The manner in which the people of Konongo celebrated demonstrates their appreciation for the manner in which Black Sherif has placed the spotlight on their community since his breakthrough, even to the point of releasing a song titled Konongo Zongo.

Blacko, as he is commonly known, won the Artiste of the Year award at the 2023 edition of the 24th Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) in Accra after defeating Piesie Esther, who was considered to be the greatest threat on the night.

Stonebwoy, Sarkodie, King Promise, Camidoh, KiDi, and Joe Mettle were the other nominees.
