Women : Things You Do That Cost Yeast Infection In Your Vagina Most Often

Female genitalia contain a relatively stable equilibrium of several beneficial microorganisms, including lactobacilli and yeast, it is a fact. Infections caused by an overabundance of yeast, particularly Candida albicans, are characterized by itching, a burning sensation while urinating, and occasionally discomfort during intimacy.

According to Everyday Health, women can engage in a variety of behaviors that may increase their risk of yeast infections. Here are some common practices to keep in mind:

Poor hygiene: Not washing the genital area properly, not cleaning from back to front after using the restroom, and not changing underwear, tampons, or pads frequently enough can all increase the risk of yeast infection.

2. Wearing tight-fitting clothing: wearing skinny jeans or leggings, swimsuits, and exercise clothes for extended periods of time can create a warm and humid environment that encourages the development of bacteria and yeast that thrive in moist environments.

3. Using scented products and douching: Women who use feminine washes, scented soaps, sprays, and deodorants during douching should be aware that the skin around the region is easily irritated and that the natural microbial equilibrium may be altered, resulting in an overgrowth of harmful bacteria and yeast.

Antibiotics are medications that are typically administered to kill bacteria in the body during bacterial-induced illnesses. Women who take these drugs without a prescription should be aware that the bacterial population, or normal flora, in the female genitalia may drastically decrease to make space for the overgrowth of yeast.

5. Overconsumption of a High-Sugar Diet: High-sugar foods and excessive consumption of flour products provide yeast with the nutrients it needs to thrive and multiply. In contrast, women with yeast infections are encouraged to consume probiotic yoghurt and Lactobacillus acidophilus supplements to restore the bacterial equilibrium in the female genitalia, thereby reducing the incidence of yeast infections.

It is also important to note that obesity, hormonal imbalances, diabetes, and unprotected intimacy can all contribute to the development of yeast infections in women, which is why it is important to see your healthcare provider for a proper diagnosis and treatment as soon as symptoms appear.
