You lack Knowledge Of US Systems And Is Embarrassing - Okudzeto Ablakwa Blasted

Dr. Paul Opoku-Mensah, the Executive Director of the National Cathedral of Ghana (NCG), has once again responded to Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa in response to his second publication on the controversies surrounding the stalled project from his recent trip to the United States.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) lawmaker on Thursday, May 4, following the publication of his five "bombshells", released another scandal accusing the National Cathedral Secretariat of "identity theft" in registering the National Cathedral and the Bible Museum Foundation in the United States.

Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa wrote on Thursday, "Painstaking and unimpeachable investigations reveal shockingly that the March 2021 incorporation of the National Cathedral of Ghana and Bible Museum Foundation, Inc in Washington, D.C. was criminally executed through IDENTITY THEFT."

"Additional irrefutable forensic investigations reveal that the Social Security Number 863-85-9197 used to generate the Cathedral's Employer Identification Number belongs to one Jose Salgado. (Please see attached documentation).

"Deeper investigations and impregnable gold-standard validation, including a report from a police database, have established that Jose Salgado, 31, was born in March 1983 and died on September 17, 2014. His many aliases include Jose Luis Delapaz, Jose Isabel Salgado, Jose Luis Paz, and Jose L De. (See attached excerpt). It has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that the Social Security Number of a deceased young Hispanic male who passed away nine years ago was used fraudulently to incorporate Ghana's national cathedral in Washington, D.C."

In his response, however, the Executive Director described as "embarrassing" the lack of knowledge of US systems exhibited by the Ranking Member of Ghana's Foreign Affairs Committee.

"Titled 'Episode 2 of National Cathedral Scandals – America Edition,' it is again prefaced by ignorance of the American political system.

"As a Ghanaian, I find it exceedingly embarrassing to hear the Ranking Member of Foreign Affairs in the country's legislature make such statements.

Assafuah asserts that the National Cathedral is not a neglected priority.

"However, the primary focus of Episode 2 is the malicious accusation that the National Cathedral committed the serious crime of 'identity theft' in the registration of the National Cathedral Foundation in the United States."

Dr. Opoku-Mensah explained that the MP distorted information to reach his conclusion.

"However, this distortion is neither an accident nor the consequence of ignorance. It reflects the MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa's mode of operation. All of his so-called 'National Cathedral scandals' are merely informational distortions about the undertaking."

The National Cathedral maintains that the project was implemented with honesty and without criminal activity, and that, similar to the accusations made during the McCarthy era in the United States, the project's scope and benefits after completion will justify the investment made in it.
