10-Year-Old Girl Deliverers Her First Baby After Her Mom Goes Into Labor at Home

When her mother went into labor three weeks early, 10-year-old Miracle sprung into action to deliver the baby.

Authorities in Missouri recognized a 10-year-old after she assisted her mother in giving birth to her sister.

According to a Facebook post from North County Fire & Rescue, Miracle acted quickly after her mother went into labor three weeks early and needed to deliver the baby at home on Oct. 23.

When Miracle's mother went into labor, she instructed him to dial 911. According to Central County Emergency 911, Miracle fortunately connected with dispatcher Scott Stranghoener when she did (CCE911).

Stranghoener was able to guide Miracle calmly through the process of assisting her mother in giving birth to her infant sister. According to a Facebook post from Christian Hospital EMS, Miracle even cleaned her sister's face, got her to cry for the first time, and kept her warm while they waited for paramedics to arrive.

According to a NCFR, Miracle was honored for her bravery by the authorities from NCFR, CCE911, and CHEM, who also gave her some special gear.

Miracle received a stork pin, which is generally given only to EMS personnel who deliver infants. According to NCFR, she was also given a customized blouse, unique diplomas for her dedication, a journal, and a tablet filled with educational activities.

Gifts weren't just bestowed upon Miracle. According to NCFR, her new baby sister Jayla also received gifts, including a Pack 'n Play, a new outfit, and some goodies for her younger sister Taylor.

“This beautiful family of four certainly has a great story to tell over the holidays!” said NCFR.
