23-year-old sex worker reveals why she pray before she goes to work

At 23, I have spent more than half my life being a sex worker. Despite the stigma and risk associated with the profession, I have never regretted choosing this career path.

The most important part of my job as a sex worker is to ensure that my clients feel safe and secure. For this reason, I always ensure that I take certain precautionary measures before I go to work. Before I meet a client, I always take a few moments to pray and ask for protection.

To me, prayer is a form of spiritual protection and strength. It helps me to stay focused and mindful about my work so that I can always put the needs of my clients first. Through prayer, I ask for protection for myself, for my clients, and for the whole experience. It also helps me to reflect on what I am doing, so that I can stay grounded and remain true to my purpose as a sex worker.

When I finish saying my prayer, I take a few deep breaths and take note of how I'm feeling. On difficult days, I am reminded to remain positive, no matter the situation. On good days, I am inspired to stay connected to the present moment, so that I can make the most of my work experience.

I'm not the only sex worker who prays before going out to work. I have met many others over the years who also take the time to pray before they head out and it has been a great source of comfort and strength for all of us. Praying reminds us of what we are doing and the risks that come along with it, but it also provides us with the peace of mind that we are in a safe and secure environment at all times.

In an industry where risks are high, having the comfort of knowing that you are surrounded by spiritual protection can be a great source of comfort. I hope that more sex workers take the time to pray before they go out to work, so that they too can benefit from the same strength and comfort that I have found through prayer.
