3 Tragically Killed At Apedwa Junction

Three passengers were tragically killed in an accident on the Akyem Apedwa-Kyebi route in the Eastern Region.

The victims were crushed to death after a vehicle transporting timber overturned.

Mohammed Sabutey, 16, Emmanuel Nartey, 20, and Ibrahim Adamu, 19, have been named as the deceased.

A Kia Rhino truck loaded with cut timber was travelling from Kyebi-Potroase to Apedwa-Suhum Road when the accident occurred.

The truck failed to stop, rolled over into a nearby valley and came to rest on its side.

Four other people with varying degrees of injuries are being treated at the Suhum and Koforidua Central Hospitals.

The bodies of the deceased have been deposited at the Suhum Hospital mortuary for autopsy, and the police have launched an investigation into the incident.
