67-Year-Old Mankessim Woman Allegedly Killed And Hanged

A 67-year-old woman was found hanging in an unfinished building at her home in Nkusukum, a suburb of Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality of the Central Region.

Auntie Aba Yaa, who died, was last seen early in the morning of Saturday, December 3, 2022.

Residents think Auntie Aba Yaa was killed and hung in an unfinished building by people they don't know. This is because of how she was placed and hung.

Narrating the incident, Sister Esi, a daughter of the deceased said, she woke up early in the morning going jogging but her mother was nowhere to be found. However, she thought her mother had gone out to visit a neighbor.

When she got home from running, she saw that her mother still wasn't there, so she went looking for her.

During the search, she saw signs that something had happened in the house, so she went closer and found her mother hanging from the ceiling.

She was hung up with a sponge while sitting half-naked on the floor, so people thought she had been killed.

According to her, the incident has left residents struck with fear and hence called on the police to beef up security in the area.

Meanwhile, police in Mankessim have conveyed the body to the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital Mortuary for autopsy and Preservation.
