70-Year-Old Man With Four Wives Arrested For Allegedly Raping 13-Year-Old Girl

Bakyasuwa said that members of the committee caught the suspect as he tried to rape the girl for the third time in the Yan mangwarori area of Gusau town last Thursday.

In Zamfara State, a 70-year-old Nigerian man with four wives and 20 children has been arrested.

The Zamfara State Anti-Thuggery Committee caught him because he was accused of raping a 13-year-old girl.

Parading the man alongside other suspects on Friday, December 2, 2022, the chairman of the committee, Bello Bakyasuwa, said the suspect confessed to have r*ped the teenage girl twice.

Bakyasuwa said that members of the committee caught the suspect as he tried to rape the girl for the third time in the Yan mangwarori area of Gusau town last Thursday.

"The rapist was caught after his family told the police that they didn't like what he was doing with little girls in his married home. He was trailed and arrested as he was about to perform his nefarious act.," the chairman said.

Bakyasuwa said that he would not tell anyone the names of the rapist or the girl who was raped.

He, however, explained that the names would be revealed as soon as the suspected r*pist is taken to court.

"For some reason, I won't say the suspect's and the girl's names," Bakyasuwa said, "but the man will be brought before the court by the right people, where his name and that of the girl must be said."

The chairman said he would hand over the suspect to the appropriate authority for necessary action.

The 70-year-old man told reporters that he has four wives and twenty children.

He told the girl twice at different times in his house that he had been in a canal with her.

He said that the first time he convinced the girl, he gave her N100, and the second time, he gave her N200.

His wives found out about him and told the anti-gang committee, which led to his arrest.

He, on the other hand, denied defiling the girl and said that his manhood was no longer working.

He said, "I used my fingers to touch her womanhood and get pleasure from it, but I never used my manhood because I never got an erection."

In a related development, the committee has also arrested a suspect who specialized in bugling shops and snatching of motorcycles.
