A President who plagiarises cannot be trusted with the public purse – Akufo-Addo jabbed

Words are easy to get, so if you can't make your own and take somebody else's and don't acknowledge it, taking the state's money would be something easier for you, Bernard Oduro Takyi, a member of the NDC, said.

Speaking on Onua FM's drive-time programme, Efie Ne Fie with Dr Prekese on Monday, 20 March 2023, Mr Oduro Nyarko said President Akufo-Addo should have resigned after he plagiarized his inaugural speech of 7 January 2017, which he had previously plagiarised.

He used the Joe Biden incident as a case study, claiming that the US President had been accused of plagiarism while running for the Democratic nomination in the 1980s. As a result, he withdrew from the race until Obama chose him as his running mate some two decades later.

The Real State of the Nation’s Address was the theme of Mr Oduro Takyi's speech.
