Aisha Huang Fires Lawyer Nkrabea Effah Dartey

Galamsey Kingpin En Huang, also known as Aisha Huang, has fired the legal team that had been defending her in the ongoing trial, which included Captain Nkrabea Effah Dartey.

Since her initial arraignment on September 16, the seasoned attorney and his staff have been defending the Chinese citizen who is being tried for four crimes.

However, according to EIB Network's Legal Affairs Corresponding Murtala Inusah, following last Wednesday, November 16, proceedings, Aisha Huang gave Effah Datey the order to skip today's sitting.

A new team of attorneys, consisting of Attorney Miracle Atta-Chey and Attorney Hope Agboado, appeared for her in court on Monday, November 21, when the case was called.

They denied representing Attorney Effah Dartey when queried by Mrs. Yvonne Attakora Oboubisah, Director of Public Prosecution.

The court, ruled over by Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, said that she believes the accused fired Effah Dartey's client.

What motivated her choice was not immediately apparent.

Attorney Effah Dartey requested that the court accommodate him at the next scheduled hearing on November 17 rather than the previous one on November 16, 2022, because he had an appointment with his doctors at the 37 Military Hospital that day.

It was anticipated that attorney Effah Dartey would resume the cross-examination of third prosecution witness Nana Sarfo Prempah, a divisional chief of Ashanti Agogo Traditional Area (Ntotoe Division).

The witness is being questioned through cross-examination by Aisha Huang's new attorneys, who are being led by Attorney Miracle Atta-Chey.

Four charges, including reentering Ghana without a permit from the Comptroller General of the Ghana Immigration Service, the infamous galamsey kingpin has pleaded not guilty to.
