President Akufo-Addo has come under fire from North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa for his irrational attack on the diplomatic community during his state of the nation address.

The outspoken Member of Parliament says the president's remark was abhorrent, absurd, and intolerable.

Mr Ablakwa said: He cannot blame diplomats for joining the national conversation when he was the same person who invited them by pleading for debt forgiveness after egregiously mismanaging the Ghanaian economy.

The MP went on to say that President Akufo-Addo is essentially telling foreign ambassadors that he desperately needs your money and goodwill, but not your advice on how to reduce the size of my government and cut my wasteful spending, as the German ambassador recently advised.

I hope President Akufo-Addo's intransigence this morning doesn't derail the already difficult bilateral talks on restructuring Ghana's foreign debt.
