Akyem Kukurantumi Gets Queen After Protest

In the Akyem Kukurantumi community in the Eastern Region, a new Paramount Queen mother has been installed with the stool name, Nana Oforiwaa Denkyraa. However, the installation process was almost disrupted due to a disturbance caused by some angry youth.

The youth, who were wearing red bands, had gathered at the chief's palace to prevent the installation of the queen mother. The police were quickly alerted and deployed to the area to prevent any mayhem from occurring. The police were able to calm the youth and prevent the situation from escalating.

According to the youth, the installation of the new queen mother was against a court order that restrained the chief from installing a new queen mother. The new queen mother is allegedly the chief's niece, who is not favored by the people or the next in line.

The installation process began behind closed doors, but the angry youth invaded the palace to prevent a ritual performance on the sacred stone known as "Abosomabuor."

The police reinforcement team arrived just in time to prevent the situation from getting worse. The youth are still protesting the installation and do not recognize the chief's niece as the new queen mother.
