Alan ‘Jumps’ From Akufo-Addo’s Sinking Government For This Reason

Club Mate is getting to know Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, who was in charge of trade, has quit his job.

Several people close to the minister said that he gave President Nana Akufo-Addo his resignation letter on Thursday, January 5, 2023.

There have been rumors for a long time that the man known as "Alan Cash" wants to run for the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
But it's not clear if his resignation will let him focus on that goal.

According to sources available to this portal, Mr. Kyeremanten gave his resignation to the President last night after a Cabinet meeting. It is said that the President accepted his resignation over the phone.

Some reports say that Mr. Kyeremanten resigned so that he could focus on his plans to become the leader of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and work toward his goal of becoming President of the country.

His resignation comes after calls for President Akufo-Addo to fire ministers in his government who don't want to quit but want to lead the NPP as flagbearer but won't.

Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Member of Parliament for Assin Central Kennedy Agyapong, and Mr. Kyeremanten are the three main candidates in the race.
