Better Convert The National Cathedral Into A Hospital - TUC Boss

During the May Day celebrations in Bolgatanga, the Secretary-General of the Ghana Trades Union Congress (GTUC), Dr Anthony Yaw Baah, expressed his concerns about non-essential projects being pursued by the government amidst the country's economic struggles.

He recommended that the government reduce the size of its workforce to save costs, and he criticized the President's plan to build a National Cathedral, which he believes is a waste of the country's hard-earned revenue.

Dr Yaw Baah suggested that the National Cathedral project should be converted into a national hospital instead. He also highlighted the excessive number of ministers of state, which is putting a strain on the public purse. He believes that Ghanaians have the power to change the current situation, and the government should cut expenditure on non-essentials to lead the country out of this crisis.

In response, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo assured the workers that the government is working hard to improve the country's economy. He urged workers to do their part in addressing the economic challenges by concluding discussions urgently. The President was optimistic that an IMF programme would soon be secured to give a boost to the economy.
