Check Out Who Won The NPP Primaries At Kumawu

So, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has held its internal election to select a candidate for the Kumawu constituency by-election on May 23, 2023. Ernest Yaw Anim emerged as the winner, beating out his closest rival, Ama Serwaa, and three other contestants, with a total of 195 votes.

In his acceptance speech, Mr. Anim promised to work on repairing any divisions within the party in the constituency to ensure that the NPP retains the Kumawu Parliamentary seat in the upcoming by-election.

The NPP had to hold this primary election to choose a candidate following the unfortunate passing of the previous Member of Parliament, Philip Basoah, which left the seat vacant.

The party leadership is optimistic about its chances in the upcoming by-election, and they plan to start campaigning vigorously to retain the seat. Here are the final results of the primary election:

Da-costa Aboagye—27 votes
