Chilling footage shows dad buying sweets for two sons before murdering them

New CCTV footage shows Sanjeev Chada in a shop in Carlow, Ireland, with his two sons, Eoghan, 10, and Ruairi, 5, buying candy for them before killing them.

New CCTV footage shows that a dad in Carlow, Ireland, bought candy and a magazine for his two boys before killing them and putting their bodies in the trunk of his car.

GalwayBeo said that Sanjeev Chada killed his two sons, Eoghan, 10, and Ruairi, 5. Their heartbroken mother, Kathleen, talked about how terrible it was to find out that they had died.

Double killer Chada went to get a cup of coffee while driving around with the dead bodies of his kids in the trunk. He then called Kathleen from a stranger's phone and told her they were dead in a casual way.

He also whimpered "I'm sorry" to his wife in court after being convicted, and he allegedly planned to kill her too in a murder-suicide to cover up his gambling debts.

On July 28, 2013, Chada told Kathleen that he was going to take the two boys bowling in Carlow, but they never came back.

This led to the Gardai sending out the first CRI (Child Rescue Ireland) Alert, which was made possible by new laws passed the year before.

The murders of Ruairi and Eoghan will be talked about on the RTE One show The Case I Can't Forget.

Superintendent Martin Walker talks about how he led the search for the two boys after they went missing in the show.

"They left the house at 6 p.m., but I found out that the bowling alley was closed at 6 p.m., so that wasn't his destination," said Supt. Martin Walker. It hinted at something else. I knew in my gut that something was very wrong here."

When Superintendent Walker found out that Chad had been questioned by gardai a few days earlier and admitted to stealing €56,000 from a community fund, the search became more important.

"They were caught on CCTV in a store in Carlow at 7:30 p.m.," said Supt. Walker. Two little boys were running around and buying candy and Taytos. One of them also bought a magazine. It looked like they were getting ready for a trip. I knew in my gut that something was very wrong."

Just a few hours later, gardai in Mayo were told about a car accident in Westport as Chada called Kathleen to tell her the terrible news.

Supt. Gary Walsh said, "There was an accident, and someone saw car seats. One of the witnesses went to the trunk and opened it. That's when they saw Eoghan and Ruairi, which was shocking and scary.

Kathleen said, "I got a call, and I took it. As soon as the phone rang, I knew it was Sanj on the other end. I think he said "there's been a crash" to start the conversation. I asked, "Are the boys all right?," and he said, "No, they're dead in the back."

She said, "At that point, I just lost it. I fell down like I was falling into a black hole." How do you tell a person that their kids have died? You can only do it with as much care and understanding as you can, but he didn't even do that."

Gardai were able to figure out where the murders happened because they found half-eaten strawberries that had been bought the night before at Tesco in Carlow. It and some used baby wipes were found in a laneway near Ballintubber Abbey.

"Now we had our crime scene," said Supt. Walsh. This is where Sanjeev Chada shot and killed his two kids. We talked to him, and he was very quiet. At first, he didn't say much, but as time went on, he started to say more. When the boys asked why they weren't going bowling, he said they were going camping. They were probably happy in the car because their dad was taking them camping."

He said, "All this time, Sanjeev tried to make it seem like the boys died in a peaceful way." But the results of the autopsy showed that wasn't true. He had to be asked a lot of questions before he finally said, "Okay, this was a more violent fight in the car than I wanted to tell you at first.""

Kathleen said that Chada's behavior would be easier to understand if she were crazy.

Chada killed Eoghan first. He caught him off guard, so Eoghan couldn't fight back.

Then, as Ruairi sat crying in the back of the car, he took the younger boy onto his lap, told him everything would be okay, and strangled him too.

Supt. Walsh said, "He decided to play God. He thought it would be better for the children to be dead than for them to be alive and find out he was a thief."

Chada left the village of Ballintubber at 5:30 in the morning. At 6:50, he put the bodies of his two sons in the trunk of his car.

Then, in the village of Kilkelly, he stopped at a gas station to get gas and a cup of coffee.

"There's a part of me that thinks it would be easier if he was crazy, because then I'd have an answer "Kathleen said.

"My husband was crazy, and he killed our two children." "My husband was evil and self-centered, and he chose to kill our two beautiful boys for his own reasons."

On October 14, 2014, Chada was given a life sentence in prison. At Arbour Hill, he is doing his time.
