Charles Owusu reprimands government officials in DDEP: "Humble yourselves for you are too "arrogant
Former Head of Monitoring at the Forestry Department, Charles Owusu, has called on officials of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's government, including Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, to humble themselves.
Speaking on Peace FM's Kokrokoo programme, Charles Owusu criticised the officials for their haughty attitude towards Ghanaians, especially with regards to the government's Domestic Debt Exchange Programme (DDEP).
He questioned why the government would go ahead with its decision when many Ghanaians, especially bondholders, have strongly objected and called for a review of the government's debt restructuring plans.
“Every poor person in Ghana is a witch or a sorcerer. People are saving money to avoid becoming a financial burden in the future. This is out of control, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo," he declared.
He suggested that the government should have compassion for the typical Ghanaian.
"These particular bondholders weren't elected. The new appointees must be humble and empathise with Ghanaians," he cautioned.
