DNA results show I am Ghanaian - Gramps Morgan

Gramps Morgan, a member of the internationally renowned reggae group, Morgan Heritage, has stated that his DNA test proves he is 52% Ghanaian.

Speaking on the Asaase Breakfast Show, the singer, who recently performed in Ghana, also disclosed that the rest of his DNA makeup includes Nigerian and a “little mix” of other nationalities.

Morgan described the test as an opportunity to “reconnect” with his African heritage. Morgan Heritage has recorded over ten albums, selling millions of records and earning millions of fans worldwide. The band was founded by Denroy Morgan, a respected reggae artist in his own right, and Gramps joined when he was nine years old.

He is currently working on his second studio album, set to be released in 2021. Passionate about helping others, Gramps established the charity Music Orchestrating Miracles (MOM), which provides relief to the needy in various parts of the world.
