Don’t travel abroad if you can’t speak English – Kyeiwaa

Rose Akua Atta Mensah, who is known as Kyeiwaa, has issued a warning to Ghanaians who are planning to travel overseas but cannot speak English.

Kyeiwaa herself moved to the United States some years ago, where she has been living until her recent return to Ghana. Although she enjoyed her time in the US, she faced some challenges, particularly the language barrier, as she was unable to speak English fluently.

Kyeiwaa shared her experience, saying that even though she had experience in communication through her acting, she found it difficult to express herself freely in the US due to the language barrier. As a result, she advises anyone who is considering travelling to a foreign country and cannot speak English to reconsider their decision, as they may find it difficult to communicate with non-Ghanaians.

In addition to the language barrier, Kyeiwaa also faced challenges finding work in the US, despite having experience in some fields. She emphasized the importance of education and schooling in securing employment opportunities in the US, encouraging people to take their education seriously.

To sum up, Kyeiwaa's advice to Ghanaians who cannot speak English and are considering travelling overseas is to think carefully about their decision, as they may encounter communication and employment challenges. She recommends taking education seriously as it can play a crucial role in finding work opportunities in the US.
