Driver in critical condition after crashing into gas station

An unnamed Kia truck driver crashed into a petrol station at Konongo on the Accra-Kumasi highway. He is in a critical condition.

According to people who witnessed the incident, it happened around 10am on Wednesday.

The driver of the car with registration number GW 7258-17 was driving very fast and it is believed that he failed to brake, causing him to skid off the road.

Joseph Lanbon, an eyewitness who spoke to Adom News, said the car carrying gallons almost hit a trader who was standing on the road before turning into the gas station.

The car was going too fast and hit a pole and then a building inside the gas station.

The impact locked the doors, trapping the injured driver inside for a while.

When attempts to rescue him didn't work, witnesses called the Konongo police, who were able to save the day.

The driver, who was unconscious and suffering from a head injury, was taken to the district hospital.
