Father Shoots Teenager For Impregnating Daughter

In the Lower Manya Krobo District of Ghana's Eastern Region, an 18-year-old boy was shot in the leg by a man who suspected him of impregnating his daughter.

Eyewitnesses say the suspect decided to target the young boy after the boy refused to answer his phone when the pregnancy issue came up.

It was rumoured that the victim would be attending a funeral to be held nearby after the girl’s father made repeated unsuccessful attempts to contact the teenager who caused her pregnancy.

One of the reporters, speaking on Hot 93.9 FM's mid-morning show in Accra, claimed that the father had decided to shoot the victim at the funeral because she had impregnated his daughter.

Despite being seen with a gun, the suspect has so far denied the allegations.

Investigations are ongoing.
