Fire destroys rooms at Kpando police quarters

Some of the rooms at the Kpando Aloyi Police rented quarters in the Volta Region were burned down by a fire on Sunday.

A police situational report said that all of the staff's belongings were burned up in the process.

The people from the Ghana National Fire Service were able to stop the fire from spreading to other parts of the apartment.

It took about two hours for the fire department to put out the fire completely.


The Municipal Chief Executive, Joefrey Badasu, the regional commander, DCOP Mr. Faakye Kumi, the divisional commander, ACP Larmtey Hohoe, the district commander, C/Supt. Mr. Samuel Yeboah, and the divisional crime officer, Mr. Godwin Alormenu, were all at the scene to comfort the people who were hurt and their families and to get a better idea of what was going on.

The cause of the fire is not known right away.

At the moment, the victims are staying at the Same Sisters Guest House in the town.

There were no reported deaths.
