Frimpong-Boateng is more credible than entire Akufo-Addo gov’t – NDC’s Edudzi

A legal team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Godwin Edudzi Kudzo Tameklo, has criticized the government's inability to combat illegal mining in the country according to a report by 3News.

Tameklo called on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to address the nation and apologize for the administration's failure in the fight against illegal mining. He highlighted that the recently published report by the Chairman of the Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), Professor Kwabena Frimpong-Boateng, only highlights the current administration's incompetence.

While several government officials, including the Minister of Information, were cited in the report, they have denied the allegations, and the Presidency has referred to them as "a catalogue of personal grievances." However, Tameklo believes that everything in the report is accurate and reflects the true state of affairs under the current administration. He added that the report indicates that President Akufo-Addo is not only complicit in illegal mining but also defends companies involved in it.

Tameklo stated that Ghanaians believe that the government lacks credibility, and Professor Frimpong-Boateng is more credible than the entire government. He made these remarks during an appearance on TV3's New Day show on Tuesday, April 25, where he discussed the issue under the 'Big Issues' segment.
