GES dismisses 8 students of Chiana SHS for insulting Akufo-Addo

In a video that went viral at the end of last year, the second-year students said bad things about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the GES said.

Video of Chiana SHS students making fun of the president on campus went viral online.

Eight female students at Chiana Senior High School in the Kassena-Nankana West District of the Upper East Region were kicked out by the Ghana Education Service (GES) because they said bad things about President Nana Akufo-Addo.

In a video that went viral at the end of last year, the second-year students said bad things about President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the GES said in a statement.

After looking into the case, the students were kicked out of school.

Before they were kicked out of school, the students had been suspended.

In the letter of dismissal sent to the parents of the students, the GES said that their behavior was very bad and not in line with what is expected of students in Ghana's educational system.
