Haruna is NDC's best candidate but Mahama has put him on 'political injury’ - Chairman Wontumi

Mr Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, has criticised the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for failing to see how wise and strategic it would have been for the party to support a campaign to make Haruna Iddrisu its flagbearer.

The NPP Chairman, also known as Chairman Wontumi, in an interview captured by Wontumionline.com, claimed that "the best candidate of the NDC is Haruna Iddrisu but he couldn't pick forms to contest".

Chairman Wontumi urged the NDC to disregard former President John Mahama if they want to be a force to reckon with in the 2024 elections, stating that the MP for Temale Central is the NDC's best choice.

"They have hurt their best candidate, which would hurt Haruna politically. We would help them realise that Mahama is a waste of time in 2028," Chairman Wontumi predicted.

He described former President Mahama as a "violent" politician who encourages his supporters to mock others instead of thinking deeply about their positions.

"They (NDC) have recruited local and foreign individuals to insult on their behalf. Mahama is known to make jokes on the internet," Mr Wontumi said.
