Having many wives prevents women from prostitution- Ned Nwoko claims

He said that men like himself who have more than one woman are helping to stop prostitution. This is what the lawmaker said in a recent interview with The Guardian. He is married to actress Regina Daniels and other women.

He said, "There are a lot of single women out there, especially in the south of the country, and there is a lot of prostitution. Some of the things our girls do to make ends meet are sad, but if our men took after their northern counterparts and had more than one wife, that might help.

"The average southerner might only have one wife, but he has a lot of girlfriends, and he spends his money on them, sometimes even more than on his wife.

For example, a man with three wives focuses on them and their children. He spends all of his money on his family and probably doesn't have any girlfriends or concubines. Spending money on multiple girlfriends is a gift, not an investment in the family."

The polygamist also said that he and the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, are doing Nigeria a service by marrying many women.



He said, "My grandfather, the grandfather of the Ooni, and the Olowo of Owo at the time all took a lot of pictures together. So, the Ooni and I have some of the same backgrounds, since our grandfathers were both kings in Nigeria. And now that we have many wives, we are also helping Nigeria."
