'He tried to kill me' - Musician opens up on why he slapped police officer in viral video

Seun Kuti, a Grammy-nominated afrobeat artist, has shared the reasons behind his actions in a viral video where he slapped a police officer.

According to a report by Club Mate, Kuti explained that he resorted to such an action because he believed the police officer was trying to harm him and his family. In a response posted on his Instastory, Kuti mentioned that the officer has since apologized, and he has chosen to forgive him.

He also urged those accusing him of seeking attention to refrain from getting involved and emphasized the importance of not jeopardizing the officer's employment. Kuti expressed his sentiment by stating, "He tried to kill me and my family. I possess evidence, but I'm not seeking attention. He has apologized, and I have decided not to pursue legal action. Please mind your own business and prevent the unfortunate officer from losing his job."
