Headmaster’s wife threatens him with divorce for keeping books in their bedroom

In a small town in the Western Region of Ghana, Mr. Benard Aliko, the dedicated Headmaster of Wasa Dawurampong D/A Junior High School (JHS), is facing a challenging situation in his personal life according to a report by MyNewsGH. Despite his sincere efforts to support the school and its students, his actions have caused a strain in his relationship with his wife, to the point where divorce is being considered.

One of the reasons behind this marital tension is the fact that Mr. Aliko has taken it upon himself to store school books in their modest one-bedroom apartment. While his intentions are noble, his wife finds it inconvenient and believes that their living space should not be encroached upon by the school's belongings. Despite his best attempts to persuade her otherwise, he has been unsuccessful in convincing his wife to remain by his side.

The deteriorating condition of the school's facilities adds to Mr. Aliko's frustrations. The Headmaster reveals that the Office of the Headmaster is in a deplorable state, and despite assurances from the Member of Parliament, Hon. Nicholas Amankwaa, no action has been taken to rehabilitate the building. This neglect from the authorities is disheartening for Mr. Aliko, who believes that the school's difficulties could have been avoided if they had paid adequate attention to its needs.

To highlight the dire state of affairs, Mr. Aliko mentions that the school, once a center for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), has lost its status due to the deplorable conditions. The examination center has now been relocated to another location where English and Arabic are taught. The Headmaster expresses his disappointment in both the Member of Parliament and the Municipal Chief Executive, as their promises to address the issues faced by the school have not materialized. Despite the MP providing building materials such as sand and wood, a year has passed without any progress in constructing the much-needed office building.

This unfortunate situation showcases the dedication and sacrifices made by Mr. Aliko to ensure a better educational environment for the students of Wasa Dawurampong D/A JHS. However, the lack of support and attention from the authorities has not only affected the school but also strained his relationship with his wife. It serves as a reminder of the importance of investing in education and the need for officials to fulfill their commitments to ensure the well-being of schools and the communities they serve.
