House Help Arrested For Stealing GH₵70,500 And Spending On Boyfriend

Police in Lilongwe have caught a 30-year-old woman who allegedly stole $5,000 (just over K5 million) from her former boss and gave it to her fiancée to live a suspiciously nice life.

In a statement, Kanengo Police Spokesperson Gresham Ngwira says that police got a tip that Alfred Paul, who runs a kabaza taxi, had suddenly changed his lifestyle to the point where he bought two motorcycles in a short amount of time.


Ngwira says that Paul, who is 31, was arrested by police on Tuesday, and the two motorcycles were taken away.

After doing more research, the police found out that Paul got the money from his fiancee, Chrissy Banda. Banda is accused of stealing the money from her former boss in Area 18B, where she worked as a maid.

The woman was arrested on November 30, 2022, when the police also found some of her former boss's kitchen tools.
