House Help Caught on Camera Fondling Two-year-old Boy Charged in Court

A housekeeper who was caught on CCTV doing something inappropriate with her boss's 2-year-old son has been charged.
On January 16, 2023, Ms. Joyce Mwangi is said to have touched the child in her boss's house in Nairobi.

Ms. Mwangi is also charged with indecent act with a child contrary to section 11 (1) of SOA. This means that she is accused of touching the child in an inappropriate way. She is accused of touching the victim's buttocks and private parts on purpose and against the law.

The court heard that the minor's mother was checking on her son through a CCTV camera connected to her phone when she saw the housekeeper doing the acts on the minor.

On the video, the accused is said to have kissed the minor in a sexual way before laying on top of him.

The mother told a relative, and the relative ran to the house to help. When she got home, she talked to the housekeeper before calling the police.

The mother of the child also gave the CCTV footage to the police, who then arrested the housekeeper.

Ms. Mwangi denied the charges when she went before Senior Resident Magistrate Mercy Malingu at the Makadara Law Courts.

She asked for a less strict bond because she has two children who depend on her.

She was freed on a bond of Sh500,000, and she couldn't pay cash bail. The case will be talked about on February 15, 2023, and hearings will begin on March 1, 2023.
