How A Man Was Caught With Women’s Ladies’ Underwear And Charms

Olatunji was remanded in custody by an Ilorin Magistrates' Court after he was found in possession of charms and women's underwear.

Olatunji is standing trial for allegedly stealing women's lingerie and attempting to evade arrest, contrary to Sections 287 and 95 of the Nigerian Penal Code.

On Tuesday, 7 February 2023, the accused was arrested during a routine police check in Ilorin, Kwara State.

According to a police first information report, Taiwo, of 12, SOJ Street, Sawmill area of Ilorin, was stopped and searched at the NASFAT checkpoint on Ilorin-Ogbomoso Road and found in possession of women's underwear and charms.

Two women's jeans he was wearing were found on him when the police searched him again at their station. He was also found with some charms, including alligator pepper, a ram's horn and some black sand in a nylon bag.

According to the report, Olatunji admitted that he had stolen the trousers from a rope where they were being dried in the Eiyenkorin area of Ilorin. He also said he intended to use the items for rituals.

In the report, the police also alleged that Olatunji attempted to flee from their station at Budo Nuhu, opposite the Ilorin International Airport, where he had been lawfully remanded, to avoid legal consequences before being recaptured.

The prosecutor, Ayeni Gbenga, informed the court of the ex parte application attached to the police report and prayed the court to grant the remand application.

The accused was remanded at the Federal Prisons, Mandala, Ilorin, till the next adjourned date after the presiding Magistrate, Mr Kamson Gbadeyan, granted the prosecution's request.

The case was adjourned till 20 March 2023 for hearing.
