How I cleared NPP’s $3miilion unpaid loan with interest in 1992 – Kennedy Agyapong

Hon. Kennedy Agyapong, an MP for Assin Central and a presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been making his case for why he should lead the party in 2024.

He says he has made a lot of sacrifices for the party, like paying back a $3 million loan with interest that the party took out in 1992 when it had nothing.

"I paid back the loan with interest, and it took Supper Care Company LTD eight years. It took my company eight years to pay back the loan with interest. Three million dollars plus interest from that time until 1992. Even now, $3 million is a lot of money, so imagine how much more it was 31 years ago. Mr. Kennedy Agyapong said this in an interview with NET 2 TV.

The businessman says that when the party won the elections in 2001 after a long fight, Former President John Agyakum Kufuor never forgot about him and that he will always be thankful to him.

"This is why I'll always give President Kufuor credit. When he took over, I didn't have any work for the first four years. When I told him this, he was surprised. "He told me to go to any ministry with a contract and say that he was the one who asked me to come," he said.

"Because of this, President Kufuor gave me a promotion, and for that I will praise him," he said.

Mr. Kennedy Agyapong says that he also helped by buying pick-up trucks for the NPP when they were running for office.

"Mr. Oppong and I bought 100 pick-ups for the party in 2004. "In 2008, Mr. Oppong and I bought another 240 TATA pick-ups for the NPP, one for each district," he said.
