How Mahama Sacked Me Less Than 48 Hours After Mills’ Death - Koku Anyidoho

In a recent interview with Atinka TV on June 1, 2023, Koku Anyidoho, the former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), revealed an intriguing detail about his experience following the death of former President John Evans Atta-Mills. According to Anyidoho, less than 48 hours after President Mills' passing, he received a phone call from someone inquiring about his well-being. However, due to his discerning spirit, he sensed something was amiss and didn't trust the call.

Shortly after the first call, Anyidoho received another one, informing him that a decision had been made during a meeting on July 25, 2012, to dismiss him from his position as the Director of Communications in the presidency. The caller relayed that the newly appointed President John Mahama stated he couldn't work with Anyidoho "for obvious reasons." Anyidoho shared that he was advised to find a new job and was given a heads-up that people would contact him to discuss opportunities in three or four state institutions.

A few days later, Anyidoho visited a prominent party member who straightforwardly suggested that he should seek alternative employment since his appointment had been terminated by the new president. Anyidoho was taken aback by the suggestion, as he believed he was close to President Mills and didn't expect to be denied by him. He expressed his shock at the turn of events, emphasizing that all of this occurred before President Mills' burial.

In conclusion, Koku Anyidoho recounted his experience following the death of former President John Evans Atta-Mills, stating that he received calls shortly after the passing, informing him of his dismissal from the presidency due to President Mahama's inability to work with him. These events took place within 48 hours of President Mills' death and left Anyidoho surprised and contemplating his future career prospects.
