I Was Returning Home & Felt Something Burn Through My Body - Lady Narrates

Yetunde Ogundiya, a woman from Lagos who was hurt when a live wire from an electricity pole in the Yaba neighborhood of Lagos fell on her, was recently interviewed by Punch News.

She explained what happened. Ogundiya said in this interview that she was walking home when she felt something burn through her body. She had no idea that the wire that fell on her hand was still live.


She said that around 8 a.m. on Monday, January 9, she had just finished styling her hair and was on her way home when the incident happened. She had a burning feeling all over her body, which made her shiver. She didn't know that the wire that hit her was live, so she passed out right away.

She went on to say that other people in the area helped her call her friend and order a ride to the hospital. So, she was able to stay alive.

She said, "I just finished braiding my hair and was going home when I got a burning feeling all over my body and shivers. I didn't know it was a live wire that fell on me from its pole. I passed out right away.

"Those who were there when it happened called my friend, and my friend got me a ride to the hospital. As soon as I came to, I dialed my parents' number. That's how I made it through".
