‘I cried at the airport’: Man recounts moments at UK immigration

Ghanaian Prince Darkwa, who lives in the United Kingdom, has shared some of his first experiences with British immigration officials.

Speaking to DJ Nyaami on SVTV AFRICA, Prince described his journey as exhausting and frightening as he was worried about being deported. Prince claimed he had to fly through Portugal to get to the UK.

The young man spent 13 hours in frustration at the airport in Portugal. According to Prince, "I was terrified when I finally landed in the UK. I had a problem with my ticket at the airport in Portugal. They asked me where I was going and how long I was going to stay.

They asked why I had bought a one-way ticket, but I was speechless. I began to tremble. They began to mistrust me and I sobbed at the airport. I stayed there for maybe 15 minutes before my brother showed up. I was angry," he admitted.

Prince also experienced some difficulties in the UK. He provided the young people with important documents for a memorable stay in the UK and warned them not to use "middlemen" to travel abroad.
