According to a report by GHPage, Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, who shot his girlfriend Maa Adwoa to death on April 20th, is allegedly facing divorce proceedings. It's been reported that his wife refused to attend his first court hearing, and has communicated to his family that she's no longer interested in their marriage.

During his first court appearance, Inspector Ahmed admitted to shooting Maa Adwoa six times, but claimed that he didn't intend to kill her. He also revealed that she owed him GHC5,000, which she had refused to pay back.

The presiding magistrate, asked the defendant if he had anything to say after the specifics of the offense were read in English and translated into Twi. Inspector Ahmed, who was dressed in an orange T-shirt over a pair of jeans shorts and slippers, removed his facemask and tearfully told the court that he didn't intend to murder his girlfriend.
