Is John Mahama calling for a “change” or a “return”? By Churches Slevin

As the 2024 Ghanaian election approaches, former President John Mahama has been making an effort to make his presence known. Mahama was president from July 24, 2012 – January 7, 2017 and since then he has been vocal advocating for a “change” in Ghana. His message is one of hope and progress, and he calls for a new beginning for the nation.

Mahama has been vocal about his plans to bring about change in the country. He has called for a “return” to the principles of good governance, such as transparency and accountability. He has also spoken about the need for infrastructure development, the development of human capital, and the need for a conducive business environment in Ghana. Mahama has also called for the need to combat corruption and boost the economy.

Mahama has also stressed the need for a vibrant youth population and the need for youth to be empowered with the tools and resources required for them to succeed. He has spoken of the need to ensure that the nation is “inclusive and unified” and to ensure that there are no digital gaps between the citizens of Ghana.

Mahama has also been vocal about his plans to help reduce poverty in Ghana. He has spoken of the need to provide access to healthcare, education, and access to clean energy. He has also spoken of the need to develop the agricultural sector, which he believes is the key to ensuring that the nation’s citizens have access to food and nutrition.

As the election approaches and Mahama’s plans to bring about change in Ghana come to the forefront, it is clear that he is calling for a “change” in Ghana. His message is one of progress and progressivism, but one that also seeks to uphold the core principles of democracy and good governance.

In the lead up to the 2024 election, Mahama has made it clear that he is ready to take the country in to a new era that builds upon the progress made during his tenure as President of Ghana. He has pledged to bring about a “return” to the principles of transparency, good governance, and the need for inclusivity and unity.

It remains to be seen how Ghanaian citizens will respond to Mahama’s message, but it is clear that he is calling for a “change” rather than a “return” in Ghana. Whether or not his vision will be embraced by the electorate remains to be seen, but it is clear that Mahama’s message of progress and progressivism is one that resonates with many people across Ghana.
