It’s a Virus – Evangelical Presby Church Warns Against Sharing Anything Related To Alpha Hour

The Social Media Administrator of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church Ghana (EPCG) cautioned members against sharing anything related to the Alpha Hour in the Church groups. The Administrator emphasized that the Alpha Hour content being shared in the Church group does not focus on the teachings of the Word, but instead carries a virus. Describing it as a Trojan horse, the Administrator urged members not to post anything related to the Alpha Hour.

"Please do not post anything relating to ALPHA HOUR here. It is not about the ‘word’ but the Trojan horses (virus) it carries.” The Admin warned.

The post garnered various reactions, with people expressing their opinions in different ways.

The Alpha Hour is a Facebook-based prayer group that was founded by Ghanaian televangelist, Pastor Elvis Agyemang. Recently, Pastor Elvis Agyemang gained attention when a photo surfaced online showing a pile of Ghanaian bank notes in his control room. The image, which depicted an overflow of cash, quickly went viral as it was revealed to be donations and offerings received by Pastor Elvis Agyemang.

The photo generated a lot of buzz on social media, with some criticizing gullible Ghanaians for supporting the young pastor and his family while they themselves struggled with poverty.

In response to the criticism, Pastor Elvis Agyemang clarified that he does not spend the money received through the Alpha Hour altar. He explained that all funds collected during their services are used for charitable purposes, such as paying school fees, providing assistance to others, and even paying tithes to another church. The only money he personally spends is the amount given to him directly by individuals as a token of appreciation for his work.

The Social Media Administrator of the EPCG issued a friendly warning to members, advising against sharing Alpha Hour content in the Church groups due to the perceived presence of a virus.

The controversy surrounding Pastor Elvis Agyemang's control room photo sparked discussions about the source and use of the donations and offerings received through the Alpha Hour. Pastor Elvis Agyemang clarified that the funds collected were used for charitable purposes, and he personally only spent money given to him as a gesture of gratitude.
