It’s ungodly for a Christian to eat ‘kusie and akrantie’ – Great Ampong reveals

Great Ampong, a Gospel artiste known as Isaiah Kwadwo Ampong has stated that eating grass cutters and other unclean animals is sinful for Christians.

He told Amansan Krakye: "If you read Leviticus chapter 7 verse 8, it tells you about animals that are clean and those that are unclean, including pig, grasscutter, rats, mice and a number of other creatures that are unclean.”

He continued: "I will advise any Christian who enjoys eating pork to stop, because it's not good and it's also an easy area for demonic possession.”

"If you eat pork, you're opening yourself up to attack, so it's not an animal to focus on," he admitted, adding that many people buy pork with fried yam at night.

"I used to eat some, but I stopped when I learnt that it was unsafe because the fat on the animal alone will deter consuming it," he said.

He told Showbiz on Property FM: "Even God, who created animals, has classified some as clean and some as unclean, so maybe those who eat pork just do it for fun or to experience the taste.

Large African rats called "akrantie", often known as grasscutters, are popular in most Ghanaian restaurants and are recognised as an important source of protein in rural areas.
