It will be very difficult to ‘break the 8’ with current economic hardships – Osei Kyei Mensah admits

Hon. Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Majority Leader in Parliament
Osei Kyei Mensah admits it will be very difficult to "break the 8" in the current economic situation.

Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Majority Leader of Parliament, has admitted that it will be difficult for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to "break the 8" in the current economic climate according to OTEC 102.9 FM.

If the NPP fails to address the current economic crisis facing the country, the Suame MP fears that Ghanaians may abandon the NPP by 2024.

He was speaking to Captain Koda on the Nyansapo morning show on OTEC 102.9 FM in Kumasi on Monday, 13 February 2023.

“Retaining power in the 2024 general elections is very possible and that’s the goal, but the party needs to do more to improve the living standards of the average Ghanaian.”

"A hungry man is an angry man,he said, so if we want to stay in power, we must work hard to change the situation. I strongly believe that breaking the eight is doable, but we all have to accept that there is hardship in the country.”
