Just In: Many injured in another accident on Accra-Kumasi Highway

A mishap occurred on the Accra-Kumasi Highway at Juaso resulting in injuries sustained by several passengers.

The accident happened on Monday afternoon and involved two vehicles, a Toyota Hiace with registration number GW 7474-21 traveling from Accra to Kumasi and another vehicle with registration GX 986-22.

The Toyota Hiace driver allegedly made a wrongful overtaking at a sharp curve which led to the loss of control of the vehicle and its eventual landing on the side of the road.

Eyewitnesses and the Police MTTD promptly intervened and rushed the victims to the Juaso Government Hospital for medical attention.

Sadly, three of the passengers are in critical condition. The driver of the Toyota Hiace, Kwame Gyamfi, denied allegations of speeding or making a wrongful overtaking. He claimed to be a cautious driver and was unable to explain the cause of the accident.

This incident occurred shortly after a head-on collision at Birimso near the Bunso stretch of the Accra to Kumasi highway which resulted in nine fatalities and numerous injuries.
