LIES?: Rex Omar Calls Out Akosua Agyapong's Allegations

A recent disagreement has arisen between two well-known figures in the industry, Akosua Agyapong and Rex Omar, regarding the Ghana Music Rights Organization (GHAMRO) and the unfortunate passing of Kwadwo Akwaboah Snr, Akwaboah Jnr's father.

Rex Omar, a respected Ghanaian highlife singer and chairman of GHAMRO's interim management committee, has strongly criticized Akosua Agyapong, accusing her of spreading false stories to damage GHAMRO's reputation.

These accusations stem from Akosua Agyapong's claims that GHAMRO leadership neglected to financially assist Kwadwo Akwaboah during his illness and medical expenses.

In a recent interview on Adom FM, Akosua Agyapong disclosed that she received a call from Kwadwo Akwaboah about three months before his passing.

During the conversation, Akwaboah expressed disappointment in receiving only GHC250 from Abraham Adjetey of GHAMRO for his medical bills, considering it an inadequate amount.

The renowned musician, known for his popular song 'Kokooko,' strongly criticized GHAMRO's leadership, led by Rex Omar, for their poor performance.

However, Rex Omar, in a Facebook comment on Saturday, May 20, 2023, referred to Akosua Agyapong as someone who tells the biggest lies.

He expressed surprise as to why she decided to speak about the alleged situation after the person involved had passed away.

He explained, Akosua is the biggest liar! So why didn't she talk about it until now when the man is dead? We have no such records in our welfare books. Kwadwo was a very proud man and would never say such things to anyone.

The singer further stated, Throughout his sickness, he only asked Ghamro for assistance once, and when he did, Ghamro's welfare team took him to the hospital in their vehicle to meet his doctor. No money was given directly to Kwadwo but to the hospital. We have records to prove this. Now that Kwadwo has passed away, suddenly Akosua has become his spokesperson? She should stop making up stories and let the man rest in peace.
