Lady threatens to beat a man who insulted her after she turned down his love advance

We often talk about empowering women and of the need for respect between genders in the modern world. However, in the wake of a recent incident, the concept of respect had to be reiterated.

A man recently made an unwelcomed and inappropriate love advance towards a woman. When the woman politely declined his proposal, the man resorted to hurtful verbal abuse. The woman responded with an equally inappropriate threat; to beat him.

It is difficult to condone such an action, but as humans, we must understand the emotions behind it.

The kind of verbal abuse faced by the woman is far too common. The prevalence of inappropriate and unwelcomed love advances towards women is a social issue that needs to be addressed.

No woman should be made to feel that she owes someone her love or acceptance. Nobody should have to accept or bow down to the advances of someone in order to avoid disrespect.

Love cannot be forced. It is imperative that we, as a society, learn how to respect someone’s boundaries and understand that no means no.

Every woman has the right to choose who she wants to be with. No man has the right to take away this choice from a woman and resort to verbal abuse or physical abuse to get her attention.

Nobody should be made to feel that they are obligated to return affection, no matter their gender. It is important for both men and women to understand this and respect the boundaries of those around them.

Love is a beautiful thing, and it is something that should be shared when both parties are willing and in agreement. It should not be forced upon anyone. Respect and understanding is essential in all relationships, and it should always be upheld and observed.
