MP was stitched up in Parliament’s washroom – Habib Iddrisu reveals

Habib Iddrisu, the first deputy Majority Chief Whip, has made a startling revelation about the Member of Parliament for Nanton, Mohammed Hardi Tuferu.

According to Iddrisu, Tuferu was involved in a near-fatal accident on his way to vote for the passage of three new tax bills in Parliament.

Several Ghanaians have criticised the MP's dispatch to Parliament following a close call as being hasty and insensitive, but Mr. Iddrisu claimed on the Citi Morning Show on April 3 that safety measures were taken before the MP was dispatched to Parliament to take part in proceedings.

The accident reportedly caused a deep cut on Tuferu's forehead, but he was still taken to Parliament to vote before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.

Iddrisu defended the decision to send Tuferu to Parliament, saying that safety precautions were taken and that Tuferu was taken to the washroom where he was attended to by nurses and a doctor.

Iddrisu also denied claims that other majority MPs were absent from Parliament and that nothing untoward was done to pass the government's new tax bills.
