Make me NPP running mate for 2024 please – Diana Asamoah

I was a musician before the NPP came to power, so President Nana Addo hasn't made me rich.

Diana Asamoah: Award-winning gospel musician, Evangelist Diana Asamoah, has called on the leadership of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to make her the running mate of any candidate who wins the party's upcoming presidential primaries.

She said she has a lot to offer the party but the most important thing she can do is to spread the word of God to every home in Ghana.

The "Mabo Wo Din" composer made the request public on UTV on Saturday, 25 February. She said she wanted to be rewarded for her loyalty to the NPP by having this request granted.

After more than 15 years, the NPP will choose a new presidential candidate for next year's elections.

So far, former Trade Minister Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, former Agriculture Minister Dr Afriyie Owusu Akoto, former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko, former General Secretary of the NPP Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, former Mampong MP Francis Addai Nimoh and Dr Kofi Konadu Apraku have announced their intention to contest.

Although he hasn't said much about it, Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia is likely to run to replace Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, who has led the party in the last four presidential elections.

A running mate will be chosen after the 2023 presidential primaries.
